L’Atlante della Biblioteconomia Moderna
After a long processing, the italian translation of David Lankes’ Atlas of new librarianship is finally ready.
I’m speaking about it because I participated in the translation, together with the italian DILL students lead by prof. Anna Maria Tammaro and Elena Corradini. The book will be published by Editrice Bibliografica on march 13th, and we’re planning some presentations across the country.

I’m happy about this because I believe that Lankes’ base concepts are important in our community, but I see that our professional discussions often lack them – as I have stated several times. Besides I believe it’s crucial to work sharing the same vocabulary and principles. I have also noticed that New Librarianship’s concepts are very natural and common among the younger professionals, and this should mean something.

To conclude I inform that if you want a glimpse of Lankes’ principles you should take a look at his other book “Expect More“, which he made available for free here.
